Slashy has a Spam view that maps directly to Gmail’s spam label. Anything Google files as junk lands there, and anything you mark as spam in Slashy is marked as spam in Gmail too.

Finding your junk folder

Press g ! from anywhere, or click Spam at the bottom of the left sidebar.
Slashy calls it Spam, not Junk. If you came from Outlook or Apple Mail and are looking for a Junk folder, g ! is the same thing.

Marking an email as spam

Press ! on any thread, from either the list or an open thread. That adds Gmail’s spam label and removes the message from your inbox. Press ! again on a thread already in Spam to un-mark it. The thread returns to your inbox. You can mark in bulk: select several threads with Shift+J / Shift+K, then press ! once.

Rescuing a good email out of spam

If something legitimate got filed as junk, you have two options:

Un-mark it

Open the Spam view (g !), find the thread, and press !. It moves back to your inbox.

Label it

Applying a label to a thread that is sitting in Spam rescues it in one step: Slashy removes the spam label, puts the thread back in your inbox, and applies the label you picked.

Why spam never shows up in your counts

Spam threads are deliberately excluded from your sidebar counts, your category tabs, and the unread badge on the app icon. A full junk folder will never inflate the number you see on the Slashy icon or make an importance tab look like it has mail waiting. This is also why a thread can be visible in Spam but absent from All Mail counts. That is expected, not a sync bug.

Searching inside spam

Search skips spam by default. To look inside it, use the in:spam operator:
in:anywhere searches every view including spam and trash, which is the fastest way to find a message when you are not sure where it ended up.

Blocking a sender

Marking one message as spam only affects that thread. To stop a sender entirely, press Cmd+U on any thread from them. Blocking works on a multi-thread selection too, so you can clear out a batch of newsletters in one pass. Slashy resolves the sender for each thread you have loaded.
For marketing email you actually signed up for, Unsubscribe is usually a better tool than blocking. It sends a real unsubscribe request instead of just hiding the mail.
