Slashy replaces your Gmail tab with an AI email client that learns how you write, drafts replies, and automates busywork. Here is what to expect from signup through day 7.

Day-by-Day Guide

1

Day 1: Sync, Set Up, Explore

Automatic: Gmail syncs (minutes to an hour), AI analyzes your sent emails, importance classification starts.Do this:
  • Read emails in Slashy. Use j/k to navigate, Enter to open, e to archive.
  • Try the command palette (Cmd+K).
  • Set theme and compose mode in Settings (Cmd+,).
  • Add extra Gmail accounts in Settings > Account > Connected Accounts.
Press Shift+? for the keyboard shortcuts reference. Shortcuts save 20+ minutes per day.
2

Day 2: Start Using AI Drafts

The AI now has enough sent-email data to generate useful drafts.
  • Press Cmd+Enter to generate an AI draft. Edit before sending — your edits train the AI.
  • Use autocomplete while composing: press Tab to accept ghost text suggestions.
  • Accept or dismiss auto-suggested drafts. Both actions train the AI.
Draft 3-5 replies with Cmd+Enter and edit each one. This gives the AI a strong style baseline.
3

Day 3: First Automation

Open the AI agent sidebar (Cmd+Shift+L) and set up the Daily Dropped Ball Scanner: a recurring scan for unanswered emails, delivered via iMessage each morning.
4

Day 4: Master the Calendar

  • Press 2 for Calendar view, 1 for email.
  • Create events by clicking and dragging time slots.
  • In replies, press Shift+Cmd+A to insert available time slots.
  • Connect Zoom in Settings > Calendars for auto-generated meeting links.
5

Day 5: Clean Up and Organize

  • Create snippets (n s) for frequent reply types. Insert with Cmd+Shift+S.
  • Add contact memories via the contact sidebar (p i).
  • Review your AI memories in Settings and add any the AI missed about your communication style.
6

Day 6: Add More Automations

Good picks for your second batch:
AutomationBest For
Meeting Prep Briefing3+ external meetings/week
Receipt ForwardingCorporate card holders
VIP Email AlertsCan’t-miss contacts
OTP ForwardingEmail-based 2FA codes

Day 7: Review and Tune

  • Check AI draft quality. Add specific memories if drafts miss the mark (e.g., “I sign off with ‘Best,’ not ‘Thanks’”).
  • Review automations in Settings > Automations. Toggle off anything unused.
  • Ask the agent: “What are my dropped balls right now?” for an on-demand scan.
