# Voice in Slashy

> Talk to the AI agent and dictate drafts by voice, on mobile and desktop.

Slashy understands voice in two places: as a full conversation with the AI agent on mobile, and as dictation anywhere you'd normally type a draft.

## Voice conversations with the agent

On the mobile app, tap the microphone in the AI chat to start a spoken conversation. Ask about your inbox or calendar, request a briefing, or talk through a draft out loud; the agent responds in kind and keeps the conversation going until you stop it.

Voice conversations can read, search, summarize, and draft. They read threads, pull up your calendar, brief you on your day, and prepare drafts that are ready for your review and send. Sending email, applying labels, and changing calendar events stay manual, so nothing goes out or changes on your calendar without you tapping to confirm.

## Dictating a draft

Anywhere you're composing, dictate instead of typing:

| AI chat (mobile and desktop) | Tap or click the microphone in the input |

Speak naturally. Slashy transcribes as you talk and drops the text into the draft or chat input, so you can keep editing by hand or by voice.

  Dictation works mid-draft too. Start typing, switch to `Cmd+Shift+J` partway through, and the transcribed text is inserted at your cursor.

## What voice can and can't do

Voice, in conversation mode or dictation, is built for reading and drafting: summarizing threads, briefing your day, searching your inbox, and putting together a reply or new email for you to send. Sending, applying labels, and creating or changing calendar events always go through the normal review step, so a spoken request never sends an email or moves a meeting on its own.
